Rutherford Bros., 127 Sauchiehall St., 1875 - 1880

The dates of these cdvs are uncertain. The two cdvs above could come from the late 1870s on the basis of the design. The Rutherford brothers, however, either singly or together, occupied a number of premises between 1873 and 1891. They are only recorded together at this address as the Rutherford Brothers between 1875 and 1880 and it might be surmised from the overprinted 'James Rutherford late' on the cdv below that James died in 1880. However, a James Rutherford is also recorded as a photographer at the same address up to 1891. Perhaps a father and son are involved.

Some investigation to identify the uniforms in the second photograph (enlarged below) might help to narrow the date range.
